Minion Entertainment was a startup that created special make-up effects, prosthetics, masks and props, but you would never have known it from their logo.
While their original brand had an interesting shape to the main “ME”, the text below was hard to read, especially when reduced to fit on labels and small applications. Also, it wasn’t fun, and fun is something that Minion Entertainment focuses on – the fun of creating their unique creatures and props, and the fun of using them for haunts and film projects. There was also an edginess to their work that was lacking in the original brand.
Rum Runner reworked the logo, bringing in both those “fun” and “edgy” aspects of the company. The “scary clown” adds color and personality to the logo, while the new letter mark has a playfulness that is approachable but doesn’t detract from the vibe of that “edge”.
